Top location with good off street parking. Close enough to walk to just about everything. Comfortable 2 bedroom apartment for 2 adults with 2 small granddaughters. Building is older but clean and comfortable.

Disliked: The TV remote was faulty and was difficult to view the services available. We did report this to reception and took the remote to them however it was just returned in the same state and hence we failed to get much service out of the TV.

Liked: Nice size room with apartment style amenities (we didn't need the kitchen but nice to have). Parking on site. Reception staff all very helpful. Short walk to Constitution Dock and right in the heart of historic Battery Point. Short drive to Cascade Brewery.
Disliked: I left my travel hair straightener behind but it was not returned to lost property sadly.
Premium prices during peak season (Sydney to Hobart Race season and a music festival).

A lovely apartment hotel. Stayed there three nights separated by week of toring Tasmania. Hotel was best laid out, best amenities and among most friendly staff in 3 months of toring Australia. Would absolutely stay there and recommend to anyone wanting good value and comfortable accomodation.

Liked: The location was great, only 10-15 minutes walk to the Brooke St Pier, the shopping centre for groceries was only 10 minute walk in the other direction, and over the 8 days I was there, I walked to town and didnt need public transport.
Being an apartment and not a hotel room, you had a small kitchenette, with a 2 burner cook top. You can cast your streaming services to the TV in your room.
The room was a great size and had a balcony.
Disliked: The balcony didn't have an outdoor setting, but that may have something to do with the weather, Hobart is a very windy city.

Great staff, nice rooms with kitchen and a toaster. Even a pot of spread left in the fridge from a previous guest was welcome, went well on the toast! Really enjoyed the 15 minute walks down the hill to dine and shop, beautiful gardens and buildings left right and centre. Quiet spot away from the CBD, plenty of free parking.

In 3 months travelling Australia, St Ives was the nicest accomodation we stayed in QLD, NSW, VIC & S AUS. it was not super fancy but was convenient, friendly, all amenities were absolutely functional, and very well laid out. Location was near harbour, market, museums & botannical garden so we could leave car parked & walk everywhere. As said, St Ives was the best hotel experience we had in Australia.

Room was clean, check-in super smooth, great little apartment for a few days stay with super friendly staff. Daily housekeeping including coffee and tea in a spot that you could comfortably live for a while. Awesome location about 7 minute walk to the heart of Salamanca. Will become my regular stay for Hobart.

Great parking that’s free! I’ve stayed elsewhere in Hobart not too far away and had to pay $40 per night to park!!

Liked: Location is excellent short walk to Salamanca or Sandy Bay or even Hobart CBD. Ideal location if you are doing the annual Point to Pinnacle or Point to pub which my wife was doing.
Good parking, nice friendly staff easy check in and good value.
Rooms neat and tidy and more than adequate for a two night stay.
Disliked: Not necessarily the owners problem but the room above us seemed like the occupants were wearing army boots

Liked: Perfect location, less than a ten minute walk from salamanca and less than fifteen minutes from the cbd. Staff were fantastic, and the kitchen was fully equipped.
Disliked: Found a few clumps of hair stuck the wall of the bathroom upon arrival. Bathroom also had a funny smell to it that didn’t go away throughout my stay.

Liked: Oversized rooms with nice outlook, lovely staff who fulfilled everything I asked of them, with onsite parking. Great location, pretty close to the Casino in one direction and very close to Salamanca, the Hobart ferry wharfs, and Hobart CBD on the other.

Room was fine and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful - in particular Vin. However, something needs to be done with acoustics. We stayed on the 1st floor and it felt like we had a herd of elephants trampling on the ceiling for most of the evening. Whether or not there were kids above us or the guests were heavy footed, we’ve not experienced this kind of noise in apartments previously. Obviously, you expect some noise with slamming doors etc but nothing as bad as what we experienced.

Liked: We had the same room we had a week ago which was great. The reception staff are lovely, the room was clean, warm and quiet and had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and the shower was really good.

Great location. Close 10 min walk to the Salamanca area where all the restaurants and the wharfs were. Right beside Battery Point.
Disliked: Nothing except it would have been nice to have a few herbal tea bags not just normal tea. And some hot chocolate sachets.

Liked: Off street parking, close to the entrance of the building is great. The location is a relatively comfortable 10 minute walk to Salamanca Place and some great little restaurants in Battery Point. There’s a bottle shop situated very close by and the locally produced merino wool shop, Smitten, is located across the road. A balcony with an opening door and window allows you to enjoy the fresh Tasmanian air. ☺️ Our bed was very comfortable (we asked for a room with the larger size bed) and the small kitchenette had everything we needed.

Liked: Good Value for money on the whole. Free parking which is a real bonus. And the staff kindly organised a mattress topper which was greatly appreciated as it made the bed then really comfortable. Spacious and light filled rooms, always sparkingly clean. It is also in a good location - only an 8 -10 min walk to Salamanca and less to beautiful Battery Point cafes.
Disliked: We stay here often as its usually well priced and good value and in a good location as well as offering free parking, which can be costly at some Hobart hotels. It is a no frills motel however, so don't expect a mini bar or extras. The rooms do have a fridge and basic self catering facilties though, which is great. The staff are usually polite and helpful.
To be fair to St Ives this was our first awful experience staying here. The heating wasn't working properly so that the room was freezing when we got in after an evening out. The wall controls were broken as it turned out unbeknown to us. We eventually managed with help from the hotel manager over the phone to get the controls working sufficiently to get heat into the room. We put the heater up to 27 degrees to quickly heat up the room, but it took forever to heat. By 11 pm still cold, I ended up having to sleep with my clothes on to keep warm (there was only a single blanket and sheet on the bed, no Doona). There was one spare blanket in the BIR which we used too, but it was insufficient to keep us warm. Then by 4 am, the room become too hot waking us up, but because the controls weren't working properly we weren't able to reduce the temperature so we couldn't get back to sleep. We both barely slept that night because of what happened and felt terrible the next day. I felt genuinely ill I was so exhausted. As it was our first bad experience staying here we weren't going to write this review BUT the manager on duty the next morning did NOT only NOT apologise for what happened, he clearly couldn't give a fig about it from his dismissive manner, and that was upsetting, particularly as we are regular and loyal guests. We were very disappointed and upset by this - a genuine heartfelt apology was all we were asking for!
This incidence was a blip though it has to be said. Not all duty manager's would have responded that way. Usually, staying here is pleasant and event free.

We really enjoyed having having an enormous window with a magnificent view of an expanse of open sky - and Kunanyi. The other big plus (apart from the immaculate cleanliness and overall comfort of the apartment), was the walkability of everything we wanted to see and do - cafes and restaurants, galleries and museums, music, coffee, beautiful scenery, shops ... It was all right there at the doorstep. A perfect place to stay.

Liked: It has its own parking lot with plenty of spaces - free of charge. I even noticed (but didn't use) a few EV charging spaces. The kitchen is well equipped. The stovetop is great. We like the TV set which supports casting from phones. Daily room cleanup service is included. The Liquorland store next door offers great choices of liquor.

Liked: The staff was amazingly helpful and basically always available (from early till late). Parking is included and there's quite a lot of parking available. I didn't have issues with it.
The room was amazing with in-built aircon and tons of amenities due to the kitchenette. It felt really nice.
The bathroom was large and had an amazing shower. There were bonus services and amenities such as washing and drying services.
View was homely and nice. Nice sound proofing overall - can only hear people in the hallway, but nothing from other rooms.
Location was relatively close to city centre without being overly expensive.
The kitchenette and added shower lines, washing and drying services really enabled us to stay for longer periods of time.

Liked: One of the best apartments we have stayed in! Well designed, comfortable, convenient, well equipped kitchenette. It was quiet, good off street parking (the upper car park gave good access to level 1). The guest laundry was a real bonus. Battery Point is lovely area, but there's easy access to supermarkets.

Liked: Clean, spacious, well equipped kitchenette, comfortable AC, view to Kunanyi, on site parking. It is a great short walk through the architecture of Battery Point and onto the foreshore to reach Salamanca and the city.
Disliked: Just be aware the parking spaces and access were designed when most cars were smaller than many of today’s.

Liked: We really appreciated the convenient location, quiet, free parking, and super comfortable bed (big plus). The studio was also impressively clean and well-stocked with kitchen essentials, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
Disliked: There’s nothing significantly wrong that stands out. However, adding a touch more friendliness during guest check-in could make a more positive difference. We understand everyone can have an off day, but even a simple smile can go a long way in creating a welcoming atmosphere
